February 15th, 2009What’s a good transportation mode for my guests at a sweet sixteen?
February 14th, 2009Olivia R asked:
I’m having a sweet sixteen in Manhattan and I’m inviting four of my closest friends to dinner there but we all live in other boroughs. Since my car can only hold five people, I want some alternate transportation mode that is NOT a limo (my friend did hired a limo, fancy dinner, etc. so I’m kind of wary about doing the exact same thing). Any ideas?

Can I claim a transportation deduction as an independent contractor?

I take the NYC subway to go to and from work, and keep separate MetroCards (subway passes) for work transportation and personal transportation. I’ve gotten a lot of conflicting advice as to whether the transportation expenses for work can be deducted. Any definitive statements?

February 11th, 2009What is a benefit of making driving cars illegal to stop global warming?
February 10th, 2009gold1045now asked:
I’m writing a satire paper about global warming.
I need to list three benefits to my crazy solution.
My solution is making driving cars illegal.
So far I have two benefits [besides the obvious of it stopping global warming].
I have that it reduces obesity/health problems and that it helps stop car accidents. I need a third benefit and I can’t think of one. I have hit a road block.
ANY HELP?? Thanks a bunch!
Carleen

Why in the US do we have poor public transportation?
February 9th, 2009AK asked:
I know the one of the best public transportation is in New York, the eastren seaboard, and Chicago. However, in the rest of the US, it’s crappy. If we have more an improved public transportation, then we wouldn’t have to drive our cars around for work. In Europe, the gas prices are ridiculously higher than the US, so people uses either the buses or the trains to get to their destinations. So what is a good idea to help improve the US and their public transports?
