Why are import cars generally more aesthetically enduring than domestic cars?

Ford GM and Daimlel/Chrysler cars may look slick and stylish upon release, but their styling gets old and stale after a year or two. Some examples are the new Ford mustang and the Chrysler 300 and the Chev Malibu. On the other hand cars like hondas toyotas and mercedes can look nice for many years after release.
